The Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority is Recognized with Multiple Awards for Publicity Campaign and DVD

 

 

(Atlantic City, NJ, February 1, 2006) -- The Media Relations team from the Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority (ACCVA) has been recognized with awards by the League of American Communications Professionals (LACP), the international Communicator Awards 2005 Video Competition, and from the New Jersey Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (NJ/IABC). 

“I’m proud that our Media Relations team has been recognized by their peers and rewarded for all the outstanding work they do for the Authority in promoting Atlantic City,” said Jeffrey Vasser, executive director, Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority.

            The ACCVA won Honors in the LACP’s 2005 Magellan Awards for its Top 10s Publicity Campaign – a series of press releases distributed the 10 weeks leading up to Memorial Day weekend 2005 promoting the non-gaming elements of Atlantic City.

Magellan, IRIS and Communicator Awards, add one

 

Of the 475 entries accepted for the 2005 Magellan Awards, less than one out of four received awards. According to the competition, the ACCVA’s “submission demonstrated exceptional characteristics which set it apart as one to be truly celebrated.”

The ACCVA’s Media Relations team also won The Communicators Awards’ most prestigious distinction, the Award of Excellence, for the Atlantic City… Always Turned On “Experience It” DVD.

Of the 3,059 entries submitted throughout the United States and five other countries to The Communicator Awards 2005 Video Competition, only about 15 percent of the entries won the Award of Excellence.

The Atlantic City… Always Turned On “Experience It” DVD also won a 2005 IRIS Award of Merit from the NJ/IABC. The DVD was one of 120 entries evaluated in the IRIS Awards program, which celebrates excellence in Communications. Entries were judged on innovative and effective use of media, overall quality of writing, design, execution, and successful achievement of communication objectives.

Media Relations developed the DVD - partnering with Media Imagery, a nationally award-winning media production company - to be used by the ACCVA Convention Sales team to further promote Atlantic City.

Both the Top 10s Publicity Campaign and the Atlantic City…Always Turned On “Experience It” DVD previously won 2005 Gold MarCom Creative Awards from the MarCom international awards competition.
