Democrats are looking to compete in the 2nd legislative district, where Republican Assemblymen FRANCIS BLEE and KIRK CONOVER are seeking re-election.  Local radio personality HARRY HURLEY is reporting today that attorney DAMON TYNER, the son of former Atlantic City Council President (and local political legend) HANK TYNER, has agreed to run. Former Atlantic City Mayor JAMES WHELAN is reportedly considering an Assembly bid. The 34-year-old Tyner is an associate at Fox Rothschild, a major Atlantic City law firm.  He lives in Egg Harbor Township and is a former attorney for the Pleasantville Board of Education.  The problem for Republicans is that Democrats will likely have the money to compete in traditional Republican areas, while the GOP is struggling to raise funds.
