The New Jersey Theatre Alliance and Dante
Hall Theater of the Arts will present Surflight Theatre’s production of Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very
Bad Day on Sunday, March 6, 2005 at 3:00pm. This performance is part
of the 8th annual Family
Week at the Theatre, and is offered free of charge to children
and their families.
Based on the popular
children’s book by Judith Viorst, the story revolves around a day in the
life of a young boy named Alexander who happens to be having a really bad day.
From waking up with gum in his hair to having lima beans for supper, we see the
trials and tribulations of life through a child’s eyes. Alexander’s
rather trying day is set to music and brings to the stage one of
Family
Week at the Theatre is an annual statewide festival
offering free and discounted tickets to young people and their families and has
been developed to encourage families to attend professional theatre together by
making the experience affordable, educational and exciting. Across the state,
in all 21 counties, young people (ages 5 – 18) will receive free tickets
to over 100 performances and special events including free classes, workshops
and backstage tours. Since its inception in 1998, the program has served over
45,000 young people and their parents with professional theatre performances
and activities.
