I thought I had heard it all,
until I listened to and called the Pinky Radio Program
today.
I listened to a conversation
between Pinky and Craig Callaway, wherein Callaway was attempting to associate
criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and violent, threatening behavior
with the Mayor Lorenzo Langford Campaign.
What started out as Craig
Callaway trying to falsely accuse the Langford Campaign of criminal mischief,
ended in Callaway promising or threatening that "serious bodily injury" was
about to occur in Atlantic City.
Callaway went on to describe
eggs being thrown and windows being broken at properties in the 3rd Ward of
Atlantic City. Callaway blamed it on the Langford Campaign, although he
had no proof to substantiate such a false claim.
To Pinky's credit, he
challenged Callaway to provide proof of the accusation he made, that
Langford's campaign was involved in the mischief he was reporting. Callaway was
forced to admit that he had no such proof, other than stating "it had to be
Langford".
But, more disturbing to me was
what Callaway said at this point in the conversation with Pinky.
Callaway said "someone is going to be seriously injured during this campaign,
it's only a matter of time". This sounded much more like a threat by
Callaway, than an observation by him.
To Pinky's discredit, when
Callaway promised that someone was going to be "seriously injured, and that it
was only a matter of time", Pinky merely said "thank you very much" and ended
the call with Callaway.
Thank you very much? Is that
what most people would say and do in reaction to an ominous threat of serious
bodily injury being made by a public official? Thank you very much? Why not
press Callaway? Why not ask Callaway: "what do you mean by that"? Or at
least ask him something.
While your at it, Pinky, why
not ask Callaway the real reason he was forced to drop out of the race for Mayor
in Atlantic City? Because unless you are being dishonest, you are the only
human being left on the planet that really believes that Callaway dropped out
for health reasons.
If there was any doubt that
Pinky is in the tank for this Callaway and Levy team, it ended with me today. It
truly saddens me to observe all of this today, as I have never had a bad word
with Pinky. He has thoroughly disappointed me with his political posture these
days, however. Running cover for thugs and dishonest campaigning is not becoming
at all for him.
I have been one of
the longer listeners Pinky probably has, (more than 35 years). I
noticed today that every caller was politely addressed and permitted to speak
without interruption. That is, every caller except me. When Pinky didn't like me
challenging his team-mate Callaway, he rudely interrupted most of my very brief
call.
I told Pinky I find it
interesting that Callaway is sensationalizing eggs being thrown at a
window. This coming from a person who's Campaign Headquarters was "christened
with gunfire through the building"! This is where the interruption from Pinky
carried on.
You see, calls like mine don't
fit into 'The Teams" plans. So, to run cover for Callaway, the host must rudely
interrupt an opposing view.
I said from the beginning of
this campaign, when it became obvious to me that the Callaway and Levy gang
were going to set a dishonest, racially divisive and violent tone to this
campaign, that I was going to call anyone who attempted to spin these falsehoods
and outright lies. That goes for Pinky, the Callaway and Levy gang, or
anyone else that attempts to perpetrate this pattern of deception upon
the public.
One thing is for sure, however,
the only side of this campaign for Mayor of Atlantic City that has been
consistently profane, vulgar, disorderly and threatening, has been the Callaway
and Levy gang.
And no spin from Pinky or any
of their other team members can gloss over that.
